My Birth Story - Hospiten, Estepona

Warning: it is a bit long... sorry.
On Sunday morning, 19th October, I woke up @ 7 am with contractions every 15 minutes. I was due to go in to hospital for an induction if they hadn’t started by 12 noon that day so I was very pleased. This advice had been given to me by my gyno, who happened not to be linked to the hospital where I was going to give birth. We called the hospital and our doctor and they said to come in in about an hour.

My Hypnobirth with Second Baby

I have to make it clear that this birth was in the uk but I would like to share my experience with you as it was just amazing and I enjoyed every minute of it - and this technique of birthing can be used anywhere - home, hospital, water or land.
One Saturday evening in December I started having painless regular surges (hypnobirthing word for contractions) - these lasted for about 3 hours and then got weaker and weaker until they stopped completely - I am sure this was due to the fact my eldest daughter would not settle and go to bed and I could not relax into my labour.

Costa del Sol Hospital & USP Marbella Experiences

Hi all,
I have two baby girls now. First one was born May two years ago, naturally, in the Costa del Sol hospital. I was not unhappy with the service there at the time, I do speak Spanish but my midwives all spoke some English as well (my husband is English). I did find though that given the fact that it was my first baby I was feeling pretty lonely and alone (even with my husband around all the time). I had a long labour, with contractions starting at 1 am Sunday and my daughter arriving 4.50 am Monday. I asked for an epidural which I did get but the guy was horrible to me, did not even ackowledge me or talk to me, did not explain anything and it took him THREE horrible and very painful attempts to put the thing in.

Elective C-Section at USP Marbella

Hi all,
This was my 2nd baby and I had been in two minds throughout my pregnancy about whether to have a natural birth or a C section (1st baby was c section at Hospiten due to large size). I found the prenatal care a bit frustrating as I was constantly passed from one doctor to another - they never had enough appts and I was always having to go through Urgencias to get my scans done on time.
Having said that, my main 2 doctors Dr Ramiro and Dra Castillo were both wonderful. In the end, the baby looked like it was going to be another big one so after a long conversation with Dra Castilo I decided to go for the C section as I was not willing to risk rupture or any danger to the baby, however unlikely.
