Real birth experiences from real women living in Spain! When you find out that you are pregnant there is a great need to collect as much information as possible. Being able to read or discuss other women's birth experiences can positively impact your approach to your own labour dramatically. Birth in La Linea
Hi there,

I think it's true...you can have a bad experience anywhere...doesn't matter if you are Spanish/British...in the UK or in Spain.
My experience was brilliant....absolutely NO complaints...ok, not all of the procedures were easy....but, since I have nothing to compare it with...I can't complain. Battered, but happy...I was walking around 2 hours after the birth. A Spanish friend of mine had a very bad experience at La Linea.
I was desperate for an epidural after 34 hours of contractions and with a twist in my spine, they still did it - brilliantly!!

C - Section in Acuario, Bienarbeig
Hi there,
I thought i would take up Amelie's thread as I gave birth in Acuario by c section 5 months ago. I have to say that the actual care I had for the birth was amazing, the midwives were brilliant, the two of them stayed with me right through the whole thing until the next morning -one spoke english and one didn't but both were really lovely.

Hospital General Universitario de Valencia
I don't want to bring any bad vibes onto the website, but I have to say that the birth experience wasn't what I'd been hoping for.
Fortunately, I now have a beautiful bouncy 11 month old baby who is happy and healthy and very very active!
I gave birth in the Hospital General Universitario de Valencia on the 27th October 2007. When we arrived at the labour ward, my partner was sent to register my details at the general reception in another building. That was the last I saw of him until the moment Lucia was born, when they finally allowed him into the delivery suite.

My Birth Story - Hospiten, Estepona
Warning: it is a bit long... sorry.
On Sunday morning, 19th October, I woke up @ 7 am with contractions every 15 minutes. I was due to go in to hospital for an induction if they hadn’t started by 12 noon that day so I was very pleased. This advice had been given to me by my gyno, who happened not to be linked to the hospital where I was going to give birth. We called the hospital and our doctor and they said to come in in about an hour.

Birthing Two Babies at Clinica San Carlos, Denia
I had my first two babies in the uk and although i had good postive experiences i admit perhpas i was lucky.I have heard some terrible stories about the uk birth units...but then we listen too much to stories.
My third baby was born at San Carlos in denia.I had very personal care during the pregnancy which was classed as high risk.I was scanned at every appoinment and saw the same doctor too.I have asisa so it was private.To deliver at San Carlos you have to more than 36 weeks pregnant,before then you are transferred to Alicante or Valencia as you are preterm and baby is high risk.
